New Blog!
We have started a new blog!
There are many reasons:
1. Andrea got a new camera and wanted to post bird photos
2. Why not?
3. We can always post pictures of the chi if there aren't any birds around
But back to the birds. This afternoon there was a beautiful Red Tail Hawk in our neighbor's tree. Air temp was -6 with a windchill of -22.

The great owl irruption of 2014
We have been hunting down owls this past week. With binoculars and a scope, that is. Apparently this winter is one for the record books, in terms of the number of snowy owls coming south: the largest irruption in 40 or 50 years, by one estimate! We tracked down two different snowy owls in the past week around the Twin Cities, as well as a Northern Hawk Owl out near Hutchinson, MN.
